101 ways to....
Find God's Purpose for Your LifeAND
Be a Great Mom
I found these two awesome books for 50 cents each!!! What a deal!! This gave me something to blog about daily. Each day(I will do my best to do them everyday, forgive me in advance if I miss a day.. or two), I will post them for the next 101 days.
#1 Find God's Purpose for Your Life
We all have a calling. We all have a purpose in life. Not all of us are meant to be artists who paint of canvases, but we all have a gift. Sometimes it is presented to us early in our lives, and other times we realize our special gifts later, when we least expect. ~Mark Victor Hansen
Discover Your Strengths
Think back to when you were a child. What were some of your favorite things to do? Did you care for injured animals, love to draw pictures, or delight in playing with friends? Now think of the ways those traits manifest themselves in your life today. Do you still collect "strays"--animals or people? Do you express yourself artistically through decorating and creating? Do you love to fix broken things? Do you enjoy opening your home to family and friends?
God's purpose for your life can be found in the passions and dreams he gave you. Use them to the fullest by devoting time and energies to the things you already love. Begin today.
>>Make a list of your strengths, gifts, and talents. Write down the ways you are using your strengths in the tasks you perform daily.
I'm thanking you, God, from a full heart, I'm writing the book on your wonders. I'm whistling, laughing, and jumping for joy; I'm singing your song, High God.
-Psalm 9:2 (MSG)
#1 Be a Great Mom (note to blog readers, you all are great moms! this is not pointing a finger to anyone in particular.. ;) I have not read this whole book yet but hoping it will help me out in some ways as I feel like a crappy mom at times. I still feel its worth sharing it to others from what I've read when skimming through the book.)
Walk a Mile in Your Children's Sneakers
Think back, way back to when you were your children's age. Ponder what was most significant in your life. What did you long for? What did you fear? What fired up your emotions or calmed your heart?
Obviously, children experience the world in a different way than adults to. As a mom, the more you're able to put yourself in your children's shoes, the easier it will be to authentically connect with what they're going through. Empathizing with your children's joys and sorrows on a deeper level prolongs your patience and expands your insight, making you better able to meet their immediate needs in a godly way.
>>While looking though old photo albums, reminisce about your childhood. During this quiet time, ask God to help you better understand your own children through what you recall about yourself.
Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord. -Psalm 127:3 (CEV)
When others are happy, be happy with them, and when they are sad, be sad. -Romans 12:15 (CEV)
